VERTO CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING
Description
A replacement Verto clutch release bearing, which also suits the SPi and MPi Minis.
We keep a range of uprated Verto clutch and flywheel parts to accompany this.
For the earlier diaphragm clutch release bearing, see: Pre-Verto Clutch Release Bearing.
Please note, we stock two slightly different designs of bearing depending on availabilty, so the apperance may vary. Both types have proven to give good durability.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is this bearing used?
This is the release bearing for the Verto-style classic Mini clutch setup. It sits on the clutch arm plunger which in turn fits inside the clutch housing, also known as the 'wok', on the starter motor side of the engine.
Will it fit all classic Minis?
Production moved to the Verto clutch assembly in the early 1980s, identifiable by the short clutch arm and slave cylinder mounted on a metal bracket on the alloy clutch housing. These were fitted until the final Minis in 2000.
How does it fit?
It is held in place on the clutch arm plunger by a simple rubber O-Ring.
Is this an uprated bearing?
No it's a standard replacement bearing, Rover part number GRB239. We find these give excellent longevity - even for full race usage, and they are good value for money.
Will this fit cars other than a classic Mini?
Quite possibly, but we do not advise it, or list the dimensions, as we do not know for sure and would sooner not supply these for alternative applications.
