Description

The MED thermostat stud kit makes an excellent upgrade over the standard studs and nuts for both longevity and looks.

The kit includes:

Competition thermostat housing gasket

3x stainless steel thermostat studs

3x stainless steel nuts and washers

Please note, this kit will only suit engines with a regular thermostat housing setup, or one of our billet aluminium thermostat housings. It will not suit later injection Minis with a spacer plate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which A-Series engines does this fit?

All engines apart from those that use a sandwich plate for a take-off at the thermostat housing, such as on Metros or the later fuel injected Minis.

What is the torque setting for the nuts?

We install the studs by hand and nip-up the nuts by feel with a spanner. However, if you do prefer to use a torque wrench, aim for 10-14lb.ft on the nuts.

Is this a special gasket?

Yes it is our own MED thermostat gasket, cut from a special aramid fibre material with nitrile rubber binder. These are thicker than standard types and make an excellent upgrade. The colour can vary depending on material availability.
