Description

A set of circlips to suit A-Series Omega pistons when running a fully-floating setup.

These are available to suit 13/16-inch or 18mm size pins. For reference, our diecast range all use the standard size 13/16-inch pins and forged have 18mm lightweight pins.

The only exceptions are the 18cc dish forced induction forged pistons, which use 13/16-inch pins, and 998 at 5/8-inch.

Where do these clips fit?

Our range of Omega pistons have a provision for these wire clips when using a fully-floating setup. The lightweight forged pistons come with 18mm pins and clips as standard, but the diecast pistons will need a shorter set of gudgeon pins (MED-1316-GPS) if you plan to convert them.

Can I use Teflon buttons instead of these clips?

With our current range of Omega pistons, no, these are designed to use the wire clips.

Do the Omega pistons come with these clips?

All of the forged pistons will come with a set, aside from the 18cc big dish turbo pistons. The diecast Omega pistons come with clips only if you select the floating pin upgrade.

Can these be re-used?

We'd usually recommend installing a new set of clips when stripping and rebuilding your A-Series engine. They must be carefully installed, as a loose gudgeon pin can cause monumental damage to an engine.
