MED DIFF BEARING
Description
Our competition-grade differential bearing is suitable for any high quality gearbox or diff rebuild. We use these on all race engine builds with good longevity.
When changing the differential we would also recommend a new set of crown wheel bolts.
Supplied individually - it's usually best to change the pair, so you'll mostly likely need two.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where does this bearing fit?
These large bearings press onto the classic Mini differential, whether that's a standard unit, X-pin, helical ATB or competition limited-slip differential. You will need two for a complete rebuild.
Will this fit all classic Mini gearboxes?
Yes these diff bearings will suit all Mini gearboxes, from MkI Mini 3-syncho to Rover Mini MPi.
Do I need to shim the differential?
Yes we would recommend pre-loading the bearings by 0.001-0.002". These replace the early thrust bearings, which needed more like 0.004" pre-load.
What is the original Rover part number for this bearing?
The original bearing was listed as AHU1856, but be careful as ever - there are countless budget replacements on the market with these part numbers that are not manufactured to the same specification.
What brand of bearing is this?
We only supply premium brand bearings that we would use in our own cars. Typically we use KSM or RHP differential bearings, depending on availability, which are equally as good in our experience.
