ARP DIFFERENTIAL BOLTS - ATB

Description
This kit includes six ARP bolts for the MED helical LSD or Quaife ATB differential.
These bolts are a highly recommended upgrade when installing a new crownwheel to the diff.
- Torque to 55lb.ft
Please note, this is labelled up as a flywheel bolt kit, as it also fits the Midget crankshaft/flywheel assembly.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the material spec?

These bolts are machined from ARP2000, an alloy steel with a tensile strength of 220,000 PSI. ARP2000 is used widely in motorsport applications as an upgrade from 8740 chrome moly in both steel and aluminium rods. Stress corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement are typically not a problem, providing care is taken during installation.
What is the recommended torque setting?

We would recommend 55lb.ft with a drop of medium-grade thread lock compound.
Where do these fixings go?

We have two uses for this kit - to fix the classic Mini crown wheel gear to the differential, and also to mount the inline A-Series flywheel (Midget/Sprite etc) to the crankshaft. For Mini fitment, these suit standard differentials, x-pin type and also ATB units, but not plate-pack equipped limited-slip differentials. We have our own alternative bolts made for these, if you search for MED-3500-CB.
Is there a performance advantage for the A-Series engine?

The standard bolts may have been torqued up, or even over-torqued and stretched many times already, so refitting them is a big risk. The ARP bolts are also made from a higher grade of steel that's far less prone to stretching, making this a sensible upgrade for performance use.
What size socket should I use?

You will need a multi-point 9/16" AF socket.
