Which engines does this gasket set suit?
We have two options - a Mini/Metro set and one for inline engines, to suit MG Midget and Sprite, plus others such as A35, Minor etc. The Mini set is for any manual transmission car, 850-1275.
Does this cover all the gaskets I need to rebuild an A-Series?
Most of them, but not all. You will probably also need a head gasket to suit, we keep quite a few options on this, plus a transmission gasket set if you plan to refresh the gearbox. If you have a 998 or Cooper S engine, the tappet chest cover gaskets are available separately as MED-1905-TC.
Why are there two timing cover gaskets in the Mini set?
This suits both A-Series and A-plus engines, or if you've fitted an MED timing cover to a later engine. There will also be some cross-over with the transmission gasket set, but it's handy to have spares.
Are these high quality gasket sets?
Yes, we've used them for many years on our own builds, and customer engines when we were building A-Series engines every day. They work very well.
