1275 MAIN BEARING SETS

Description
High quality main bearing sets for 1275-based engines, as used in all engine builds here at MED. We stock a wide range of bearings to suit standard size and re-ground crankshafts - see the dropdown menu above.
For reference:
A-plus main bearings have a location tab in the centre of the bearing, which locates in the main bearing cap. They are plain on the bottom side and have an oil groove in the top bearing.
Pre-A-plus bearings have all location tabs offset to one side. They also have an oil groove on both halves of the bearing top and bottom.
Please note - A-plus 1275cc main bearings are labeled by ACL in a metric size, whereby 0.010" = 0.25, 0.020" = 0.50, 0.030" = 0.75. Don't worry when you see the box labels - they're the correct size.
Please contact us for price and availability if your crankshaft has been reground further than 0.040".
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the specification of these bearings?

ACL Duraglide 780 are a tri-metal copper-lead heavy duty bearing suitable for any high performance A-Series engine. They are manufactured in Australia with strict quality control standards, and we've used them for decades with excellent durability.
What is the difference between A-Series and A-plus bearings?

A-Series bearings have a retaining tang that's offset to one side on both halves, whereas A-plus engines need one offset, and one with a centre tang. Always check your block and caps, as there was some cross-over during the 1980s.
What is the equivalent part number for these bearings?

ACL lists the A-Series as 3M2204 and A-plus as 3M2205. A-Series oversizes are listed in inches, A-plus in mm.
Can you supply in-between or non-standard sizes to suit my crankshaft?

No, you'll need to have your crankshaft machined to the correct size if the journals are worn out of tolerance, rather than try to size bearings to suit. Unfortunately it's not feasible to have custom bearings produced.
My crankshaft has already been reground several times - can you supply larger sizes?

We stock over-size bearings up to 0.040" in 0.010" increments, and can usually supply anything up to 0.060" by special order. If you need a size that's not listed, please contact us and we can check availability.
