Description
An efficient crankshaft damper is essential for reliability on all A-Series engines, from mild road to full-race. This effectively dampens vibrations to improve longevity of the main bearings, and is more durable than the standard dampers, which can deteriorate with age, perish and fall apart.
The centre boss is machined from lightweight aluminium, holes drilled for weight saving then anodised black. The damper ring is then machined from high grade steel and bonded to the central boss using natural rubber.
The damper ring will require an additional pulley to mount to the crankshaft, as seen in the related products below. We would recommend opting for the complete balanced kit, as it comes with everything you require, even the bolt and washer.

How does this fit an A-Series engine?

The damper will need a suitable crankshaft pulley to be used as a two-piece assembly. This will suit an original pulley with 74mm x4 PCD bolt holes, or preferably one of our three MED pulleys.
Will the damper need to be balanced?

Yes it will ideally need to be balanced as an assembly with the pulley of choice. We only balance the dampers when supplied as a complete kit. They're typically only a small amount away from perfect, but a balance is definitely worthwhile.
How large is the damper?

This is 150mm in diameter, or approximately 5.9".
What size screws will I need to fix this to the crankshaft pulley?

For the regular pulley and management pulley we use 5/16" UNF x 7/8" with a flat washer and the lock tab. For the flat management type these should be 5/16" UNF x 1", so a little bit longer.
