Description
IWIS is world renowned for producing the highest quality timing chains, which are used in all forms of motorsport applications.
There may be cheaper chains on the market, but these often stretch prematurely, so we always insist on the best.
The race simplex chain is specifically for our (now obsolete) super lightweight race setup and cannot be fitted to a standard engine.
Duplex is compatible with both the Steel/Alloy MED Vernier and All-alloy MED X-Lite Timing Kit and others on the market.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these fit all A-Series engines?
Yes we have a timing chain option for both simplex and duplex timing sprocket setups. The race simplex chain is a replacement for our early design of lightweight timing setup.
Are these a standard replacement chain?
Yes, but the best quality available, with minimal stretch over time, and known as an 'endless' timing chain. We would highly recommend using these for all applications, and avoiding unknown-brand budget chains, which can be a false economy.
How long does an A-Series engine's timing chain last?
Using a high quality Iwis timing chain, and performing regular oil changes, it will easily last until the next engine rebuild. We would usually refresh the chain during a full engine rebuild, or after 100,000 miles depending on which comes sooner.
Can the timing chain be changed with the engine in situ?
Yes it's entirely possible to do this, however you would need to drain the oil and coolant, and remove the radiator and timing cover. Be extremely careful not to adjust the cam timing.
