Frequently Asked Questions
Where do these bearings fit?
The small metal cage needle roller bearings sit inside the laygear and fourth gear on the classic Mini gearbox.
Which bearings do I need?
Different gearsets and transmission types will need a different combination of bearings, so there is not a one-size-fits-all. Please see the additional information tab to narrow down your selection.
Do I always need to change them?
For the relatively low cost, we would always change these bearings as part of a gearbox rebuild. They do last well, but if there has been any contaminants in the oil, it may have all passed through all the bearings and this will cause premature wear.
Is the price for a set, or individual?
The price is for a single bearing. Some gearboxes will need four bearings, some only use three.
