MED DAMPER PULLEY BOLT
Description
The MED crankshaft pulley bolt is CNC machined from EN24T steel. The bolt is longer than standard to give a more positive location of the pulley on the crankshaft, with an in-built washer.
See the MED Heavy Duty Flywheel Bolt for the fixing on the opposite end of the crankshaft (pre-Verto setup).
In place of the lock washer, we recommend to apply a drop of 27-01 thread lock and torque to 70lb/ft.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this suit all A-Series engines?
Yes it fits all A-Series engines, with the standard crankshaft thread - 5/8" x 16 tpi Whitworth. It will suit standard crankshafts and aftermarket steel crankshafts.
How long is the thread?
This is 1" long. Do double-check that the crankshaft thread is deep enough for the bolt to be able to fix the pulley in place, as we have occasionally seen cranks with the thread not fully tapped. More common is a thread with swarf or damage, which will also stop the bolt being fully tight on the pulley.
What's the torque setting?
We would recommend 70lb.ft with a drop of medium-grade thread lock. Even better, install the MED lock tab on top for further security.
What size socket will I need?
It's the same as standard - 1 5/16" AF.
Which grade of steel is the bolt machined from?
EN24T, further hardened to condition X.
